This week was mostly dedicated to working on finalizing the plugin. Stephanie and I worked together and got the image with the username of the girl that drew it to generate automatically after every submission. In between making the final polishes to the plugin, Angelica and I got to help out Stephanie with a paper that is being published in a book! I contributed some sections and also drew artwork. Because we helped out, Stephanie is allowing us to be recognized as second and third authors of the paper, which is incredibly exciting! I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity, which would be the first time my name appears in a published paper! :-)
The plan was to release the plugin by the end of the week on Friday, but things did not run quite as perfectly as we had wished. Because of this, we decided to release it next Monday, which would allow us to plan things better and perform testing during the weekend. Other than this, I also wrote an outline of my final paper and a draft of the abstract.
This weekend, I flew to Dallas to visit my boyfriend and we had the most amazing time! We visited museums (my favorite one was The Sixth Floor Museum), the Dallas World Aquarium, the Botanical Garden (which was absolutely gorgeous, but unbearably hot), and even a quick run to the Northpark Mall. Everything was awesome and I am glad that we planned this little vacation. We certainly needed some time to relax and "recharge" our batteries for what is left of the summer. Only two more weeks to go!
