7/29/2012: NYC We went to NYC yesterday. One of my roommates is left this morning and we went to NYC as roommates to hang out one last time together. We took a bus there and it was about two hours. It wasn't so bad. Then we walked up and down the main street and saw Madison Square Garden. We stopped at a pizza place and eat lunch there. It was all right pizza. We just walked up and down. We saw the NY center of the place one of my roommates was interning at and she talked about how she would love to work there and get to live in NY for awhile. It was a too big of a city for me. I wouldn't want to live in such a place. Yet again I got to school in Morris which is a farm town in the middle of nowhere so I think it's clear what I like. Anyway we decided to check out Central Park. We walked around. We passed a couple of weird people. One group of guys inappropriately called at us and then this one guy was speaking in a whispering satanic voice and we ran away from him quickly. We just walked around and sat down at a bench . We talked and did a little people watching. Out of the three of us I was the only one to still have a camera so I had to be out there taking pictures for all of us. While we were walking around we heard some music and we got to hear free music from this band called Givers. They were pretty good. We also saw a girl who as hula hooping and she was fascinating to watch. We left after a couple of songs hoping to see more of the city, but once we got out of Central Park it started to pour like mad. Luckily two of the three of us brought umbrellas so we walked around avoiding puddles and decided that there wasn't really any place around that side of the park to pop in. We caved in and got a taxi to drive us back to around where we started and we just walked around again looking for a place to eat dinner. It took us awhile to find the right place that wasn't super expensive. We walked around some more, went into a few shops, and then decided to get an earlier bus back. We ended up getting back around 11. Then we helped our roommate pack for the next day. In the morning she was gone.
