PHILLY:New In The City

6/24/2012: My Weekend in a Nutshell

After work on Thursday my roommate invited a bunch of people to out to an Indian restaurant. I met some more people (one who is also from MN). It was fun trying some new food. I have had Indian food before but not much or often.  Afterward we hung out and got to know each other.

Friday night my absent roomie came back again and we got a bunch of people together to hang out. I met some of her friends from school. We headed over to one of her friends that lived in a house but decided to head back where it was a little more quite. My guy roommate taught us some salsa moves and we had a good time dancing and listening to Spanish music.

Even though I stayed up last on Friday night I woke up early like a little kid to watch probably the most mature kid’s show on TV, The Legend of Korra. It was the show’s season finale and if you know me, well, you know how I like to keep up on my shows (you can’t miss a season finale). My roommates thought I was crazy, with me gasping and freaking out at the show. They just don’t understand. I know it says Y7 on the screen but seriously this show has love triangles, political wars, heartbreaking situations, and even deals with suicide. Kid’s show, I don’t think so.

After that my day became a little less exciting until we made plans to hang out again at night. Before people were going to come over my roommate and I decided to go for a walk and we met a guy in the elevator. He was just going to waste time walking around too so we invited to come over later.  It was a great way to meet someone new.
