June 5 - Jul 11
July 4th was really fun! I saw fireworks at Webster Groves. They were nice, but the rainy wheather detracted a bit from the explosivity.
This week's exciting news is that I am starting to learn how to write Java code gracefully instead of just throwing it out there roughly. I started recording Gazi's advice so he doesn't have to repeat the same thing tons of times!
Our first test study of people outside the lab is tomorrow (Tuesday!). I am nervous, as my game is still pretty rough, but hopefully I'll get some serious coding done in the next few hours. The meeting went really well. The stroke victim we met with was really inspiring. She is extremely proactive in her recovery, and gave us some very useful tips for improving our games.
Another exciting thing that happened this week is that I am really getting the hang of how to structure my Java code. Before I just threw down code wherever I saw fit and basically tried and failed until something happened. Today, however, I gracefully laid down some code and bridged the two classes with class.
