Don't Torch It, I Got A WEKA For It

This week went by fast. Orientation for graduate students was during this week. My apartment house mate arrived in the US from overseas. I was extremely happy to meet him again (we knew each other PhD CSD open house). Although the orientation took up the week, nothing was really interesting about it since I have been on campus for over a month.

One highlight was getting my official school ID. This was a big deal because a official CMU ID allows a the student to ride the buses for free. There was also a big change in my research as I decided to utilize the WEKA Java Machine Learning Library over the Torch C++ Machine Learning Library. I felt more comfortable with the former and the former will allow me to get some initial results in an easier fashion. I still might go back to Torch later on.
