Nothing like the movies
At the beginning of the week, I went into the motion capture lab to perform the
exercises that patients perform during knee rehabilitation. This interesting experience
started with putting on the tight skin suit. After I had the suit fitted to my body,
I realize to myself that I need to do some more exercising. Anyway, I did several
exercises. Some were easy while others were hard. The hard exercises took patience
and the knee curls with weights on the ankles was very tricky. It will be interesting
to see if I performed the exercises correctly when the motion data is shown to the
experts on knee rehabilitation. I could have been doing the exercises incorrectly
and performing these exercises definitely taught me home-based rehabilitation difficulties
compared to during exercises on-site with a therapist.
The middle of week was spent studying the motion capture file format C3D and writing
summaries of papers I read. Once I completed my summaries, I designed a rough draft
of a potential strategy to solve our problem.
The weekend was hectic. I had to catch my airplane to Boston for 4th of July week
on Sunday.Saturday, I went to the Waterfront. The Waterfront used to be steel works
and was transformed into shopping center. I went to the shopping center with labmates.
The girls decided to go shopping but I did not find any shops I was interested in.
Therefore, I decided to do the unthinkable, hit two movies back to back with dinner
in between. What seems like a good idea turned out to be great and tragic by the
end of the day.
There was a set time for us to meet up. I knew I could catch a movie before the
set time. The movie was Live Free or Die Hard. Being a guy, this action movie I
quickly fell in love with. However, the tragic part of my day started. I didn't
eat anything before or during the movie. When the movie ended I had a huge headache,
no medicine, a second movie to watch after dinner. I hope dinner would counteract
my headache.
For dinner, we first chose Fuddruckers but quickly changed our mind to TGIFriday's
since no one had been to Fuddruckers. TGIFriday's was a blast. I got my favor drink,
a crushed ice, berry lemonade, and sprite mix. After dinner we went to see ratatouille.
This movie excellence extended from its great plot and animation. A totally different
movie than Live Free or Die Hard but both were equally entertaining. My evening
was great because of dinner and two excellent movies yet tragic due to my lingering
headache.
