Week 2

This week I've been just reading and going through more tutorials. I read about AODV and DSR, two different existing routing protocols. I also did some tutorials for NS2, the network simulation software I am going to be using. We can use this software to simulate the communication between nodes in ad-hoc networks. An ad-hoc network, I have learned, is a network of mobile wireless nodes without any established infrastructure; therefore, this is an ideal model for wildlife tracking.   On Friday, I attended a "Vice-Versa" meeting at Rutgers University. A couple of groups from Rutgers and Princeton meet once a month to present each other's work and discuss various issues. It was very informative to hear so many perspectives.
