Week 8: Jul 19 - Jul 23
We began running studies for the Prime III project this week. Before the studies began, someone said to me that people always do weird things while you're running studies and that's exactly what happened. It's funny how some people can totally disregard instructions and do whatever pleases them. This week was very exciting to me and I'm glad I had a chance to conduct these studies, as this is an important part of researching.
I also worked on my poster this week and I am really pleased by the outcome. At first I was very nervous about it because I've never done a poster but it seems like all my anxiety was useless. I had the great idea to put a dashboard at the top of the poster to give the feel as if you're in a car since the project pertains to automobiles. I'll be sure to post the final version on my website.
There was another seminar on Thursday and Dr. Feng Luo spoke about his research interests in the field of Cheminformatics. He spoke about knocking out genes in order to kill cancerous cells. Though I have little interest in cheminformatics, it was very useful to see what he has been working on and the future prospects of this research.
Reflecting on my week made me realize that I only have two more weeks in Clemson. I've been having a wonderful summer here and it's really somewhat bittersweet.
