This was a fairly slow week. Elizabeth left for vacation on Tuesday, and Mike was still gone on his vacation. I was left to work on the implementation of the algorithm by myself. This normally would not have been a problem except I ran into some issues connecting Mike's code with my own. This project will work much smoother once all of us are back together and are able to collaborate.
On Friday, I went out to lunch with Maria, Maya, and two other students. The purpose of the lunch was to talk about graduate school. I have a much better understanding now of what it entails. We spoke a lot about the big difference between getting a doctorate versus a master's degree. I am still unsure about what I want to do after I graduate next year. Right now I am leaning towards getting a master's degree even though I am still unsure about what I want to focus on. I think getting my master's would open up more opportunities for research orientated occupations, which I am interested in. I imagine that if I were to enter the workforce right after college, I would never go back to school.
Over the weekend I started looking at the GRE. If I have to take it, I need to take it before school starts up again. Otherwise I will get busy, and it will never happen. I am not a big fan of standardized tests, so finding motivation to study for one is difficult. Hopefully I can take it before the end of the month.
