DREU 2014 @ Arizona State University
Above is the view from Peralta, just outside of our lab. It's the last week of DREU and it's a bittersweet feeling. Living in Arizona for ten weeks has definitely been unique: surviving the summer heat, crawling up mountains, going to shows in Phoenix, eating new and exciting food, learning more than I ever anticipated to about semantic web, meeting fantastic people--it's been the experience of a lifetime. I hope to be back sometime soon to visit some of the places I missed as well as visiting the people I'll assuredly miss.
Very little has been done on the JSP and servlet end, which I anticipated working on this week. This is okay as attention has been diverted to writing the final paper. It's exciting to see all that we've accomplished in 10 weeks as well as what the future holds for the project. I don't know if the paper is quite ready for a journal submission but a rough draft is available here. I'll be having it reviewed and making changes as I continue developing our front-end into a working prototype.
Thanks to Dr. Bansal, my coworkers in the Big Data & Semantic Computing lab, my new friends in Arizona, and DREU for the incredible experience. I'll never forget it.
