Week Ten
The end has finally arrived. It doesn.t seem like I.ve been here for ten weeks, it has gone by so fast. I have really enjoyed this experience and it has truly helped in the process of making choices about graduate school. Over the past ten weeks I have worked hard on research, while most of the time my research went smoothly there were times that were tough. I was able creat relationship not only with my mentor and the grad students I worked with, but also my fellow theoretical computer science undergraduates, I even had the chance to meet people outside of the academic environment.
We did not have a reading group meeting this week since most people were busy finishing research, packing, and heading to CCCG. I worked on writing my final report and editing it when I received feedback from the Ph.d student I worked with this summer. Through writing my final report I was able to see how much I have learned and grown, as a researcher and a student. I also had the chance to meet with both my mentor and the Ph.d student and discuss my future plans pertaining to grad school and research. I feel like I am truly prepared to apply for graduate school and know what steps to take to get into the schools I wish to attend. I have learned a lot about the admission process and how there are a lot of internal issues in a department that affect the amount of graduate students that they accept.
I am excited to return home for a week before I have to return to school for the fall semester.
