Week Seven
July 11th - July 17th, 2011
These pictures were taken on the hiking trails behind "DOG PARK!" as we say to Zia :)... We were pretty tired after this 3 mile hike, mostly because it was abnormally hot that day :(.
Pressure at work is mounting. BGPmon 7.2 is going to be
released on Monday! This is great for users, but might not be
as great for us. The programs that show live data and plot
them still isn't working. This is my main responsibility.
There are a few other secondary responsibilities. Such as
finding and fixing memory leaks and bugs. I find this really
challenging because I have never dealt with a larger-scale
system such as BGPmon. Tack on lack of documentation to that
and you get a very frustrating work environment. Every day
that I ride my bike home from work, I feel so incredibly
lost and confused. I am starting to hate BGPmon and its
accompanying scripts. Little by little, I am starting to
see just how important documentation is for everyone. I still
don't enjoy documentation, but at least I can appreciate
that it is worth more than I am valuing it.
Overall, this week was uneventful. I just hope that the release on Monday will also be uneventful.
