My Research Interests I have tried to combine my interest in design with an interest in applying computation to solve problems in aesthetics, design, and engineering. Computation has become a third path, along with theory and experiment, to meet modern challenges in product design, science, architecture, and engineering. I am trying to combine the study of art and computer science in a hope to bring an interesting and new perspective to problems at the interface between pure engineering and aesthetics. There are obvious applications in architecture, automobile design, and elsewhere. There is a design and presentation element to every project that presents itself visually to the user, whether it is a house, a car, or an online course in chemistry. |
