Week Nine: July 12 - July 16

I had worked on normalizing gamma and alpha parameters for APS Physical Reviews for the whole week. It took a lot of time because we divided Physical Reviews dataset into 20 sub-datasets, in which each of dataset spans over 10-year period. Also for each sub-dataset, we looked at both backwards and forwards trends, and each trend would be tested would be normalized by two methods. Therefore, I had to manually use TableCurve 2D to find the best curve fitting for more than 150 sub-datasets. It is VERY tedious to do something manually and repeatedly. However, it made me appreciate programming much more than ever. I agree that computer scientists should be lazy just like Bill Gates said.

"I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because, definitely he will find an easy way to do that " -Bill Gates

Lessons Learned:
1) I would probably need to be lazier next time.

Weekend:
"What's the most resilient parasite? An idea."
I went to see Inception with my friend at Westwood. The movie was mind-blowing!
