Week Seven
Well, the contacts script wasn't done on Monday. It wasn't done on Tuesday, either. It took nearly a week, and at the end we had over 55,000 users in our database, and over 5,000,000 one-way directed connections between those users. This is part of the reason why it took so long to finish - the bigger the database got, the slower it ran. Too bad I don't have a box with more RAM and a SATA drive to run this stuff on. I'm writing some scripts now to get some additional information - things like the names of the pools each photo has been posted to - and we're starting to do our analysis.
