Week 7
With the program coming to an end, we have been working rigorously on each
difficulty we face in the project in order to move forward every day. This week
we focused on trying to solve the localization of the robot, but were
unsuccessful when trying to set the odometry of the robot. After extensive tests
along with our mentor, we decided to work around the problem. We have begun
working on a smaller but similar problem first, and later apply what we learn on
our overall project. Below is a more detailed report of how my week went…
- Monday
- Group meeting to discuss problems that needed to be solved in the code.
- Worked on accurately localizing the robot.
- Experimented with different function for better localization.
- Tuesday
- Attended C++ meeting with Mukulika.
- Attended Motion Planning meeting.
- Determined set coordinates where A&M logo would be assembled.
- Continued working on localizing robot.
- Wednesday
- Attended C++ meeting with Mukulika.
- Created name for project presentation.
- Began testing robot localization code.
- Thursday
- Attended C++ meeting with Mukulika.
- Worked on setting robot odometry once localized.
- Encountered and worked on errors on code.
- Friday
- Began working on rotate function for more precise translations for robot.
- Worked on deferent approach for localizing robot due to problems
encountered in SetOdometry function
- Met with Saurabh to discuss problems encountered on code.
- Started testing different approaches for localizing the box once the
robot moves it.
- Goals for Next Week
- Efficiently localize box once moved from original location.
- Have much more accurate localization for robot.
