I am a computer science major at Morehouse College, class of 2017, and I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Dr. Daily at Clemson University this summer on virtual environment interactions! What is virtual environment interactions, you say? This project is the integration of movement (dance, more specifically) and programming in order to provide a platform through which girls can gain computational thinking skills. If you want to know more, click here. My job in particular will be to revamp the website so that it better reflects the idea of creative computing, as opposed to the static blog that is up now. By the end of my DREU experience, the website will be vastly different (and I'll probably delete this sentence)! So, you know of my job while I'm here at Clemson and my educational background; but what else is there to Matthew James? Well, I'm super into video games! I would like to learn how to create them myself, which brings me to my next interest: coding. I really enjoy coding, even though I might not be the best at it, and learning new techniques and ways to solve problems, which is part of the reason I'm so excited for this summer experience! I also play guitar (not very well) and I enjoy long walks on the beach. If there's anything else you'd like to know, my email is at the bottom of the page!
