I met a friend of Skatje - Kyle and his cousin -Dustin over the weekend. They were both really nice. Skatje treated us all to sushi twice and once kyle invited us for dinner at his house. He made awesome spaghetti. I only ate halal meat and so he bought halal meat for me - that was really sweet of him. I wanted to spend more time with them but I had to work on the paper. We were all submitting write-ups for the sections we worked on and Bob was merging them into one paper. We shared the document on gmail and so any of us could make changes there.
On Monday we got some good news - we had received an extension for the paper till Friday. We further polished our write-ups and Bob and Ryan tried to come up with better precision and recall. I also did two short experiments which Professor Gonzalez suggested to find some means of predicting ADRs for drugs using GeneRanker but they failed too. After a week of consistent hard labor we finally submitted the paper. After the week was over I left to visit my parents in Seattle.
