This weekend Skatje went to visit a friend and I was left alone again. I was pretty bored but on Saturday I went with Gazi to the birthday party of the son of one of his Bangladeshi friends. It was extremely random and totally unlike me but I didn't have anything much to do. I was yearning for Bangladeshi food after days of Ramen noodles (I was out of money after buying the laptop) and they had asked Gazi to bring me when they heard I was new here and didn't know anyone else from Bangladesh. The party was nice. The house was brimming full of people and there were so many kids! I missed kids so much! I hung out mostly with them and had fun. The food was awesome too. It was a bit awkward though when people asked me how I knew the hosts of the party.
On Sunday I took the light rail to Christown Spectrum Mall for grocery shopping and met another ASU student -Melissa on the way. Melissa lived right next to us but we had never talked before. That day I went forward and introduced myself. She happened to be a very interesting person and I was so glad we got to know each other! We watched a movie and then went to Cold Stone for ice cream.
The week was very unproductive. I was supposed to write the literature survey but for some reason I simply could not concentrate. I had already read 13 papers thoroughly and knew what each of them talked about. Professor Gonzalez only asked me to analyze 6-7 of them and yet when I tried to write the survey I simply could not focus. Instead I found myself spending hours on facebook and the week flew by before I knew.
