5/18: Well, it's my second full day in Philly, and so far, it's been fun. I met with Yuan (one of the grad students) today for a quick tour of the campus and to go find some dinner. Drexel is so huge compared to my little Hiram! It should be an adventure, if nothing else!
5/19: After lunch with Sunny, KP (grad students), and Ritika, we had a conference with Yuan and Yuanfang (on the phone, her poor baby was sick!) outlining our summer goals and tasks (which can be seen by downloading the slides). It looks like it'll be a lot of work, but we should have a lot of fun! Sunny and KP said that 50-60% of the hard work will be developing a tool to reverse-engineer C++ code into an ACN (Augmented Constraint Network), so that'll be fun... haha! We just learned about Data Mining and other things in my SE and Ethics classes at school, so looks like I have a bit of a head start... wish me luck!
5/21: I'm a little frustrated with the communications issues we seem to be having with the grad students. It seems that they're never around and, even when they are, are less than willing to be of valuable teaching assistance. I think they expect Ritika and I to have their knowledge base which is just impossible as we are still undergrads. We've spent the last few days trying to get on the server and, now that we are, trying to understand basic Linux (which I've used in the past briefly, but Ritika has not). We have a lot to do in the next few days--by next week, we're supposed to look at Lattix, learn basic svn commands in Linux, look at the software tools that the RiSE team has developed, and to learn C++ (and UML, which I'm already pretty familiar with). It's going to be a lot of work, but it should be fulfilling. We'll see!
5/22: We've got Minos installed on our machines! There's hope for us yet! This weekend will hopefully consist of me learning C++ and looking at Lattix and, best of all, the Minos we have now!
