5/24 - I spent my time today trying to learn C++, and I think I made some fantastic progress. I even wrote a successful program! It was simple, but such things happen... I've only got a bit more to learn until I'm an absolute master at C++.
5/27 - We were supposed to meet with Yuanfang today to go over objectives for the week ahead, but her flight was delayed in Birmingham, so we had another day to catch up... Sunny decided today was the perfect day to show us everything we needed to know and do to run Minos, uml2acn, and moka for our future projects. Unfortunately, there were many bugs that we're trying to work out, but once the programs work, we know how to use them. That's the important thing, right?
5/28 - We met with Yuanfang and the grad students today to go over objectives to complete before our next meeting. We are supposed to learn Ruby, learn the functionality of CVS (a version control tool that Firefox? uses), look at the repositories of source code/developer mailing lists/bug reports for both Firefox and Apache HTTPD, and create DSMs for all of the versions of Apache HTTPD and Firefox. We have until Tuesday. God be with us. (EDIT: It turns out that the tools we have are unable to convert C/C++ code into workable models to get DSMs, so we're in the clear there... just have to do all of the other stuff).
5/30 - So the last couple of days, I've been trying to get the source code for both Firefox and Apache, unsuccessfully, I might add. I've decided to just try to get the code from Ritika because my computer is not the best and I don't want to put it through any more unnecesssary trauma. I think I will spend the rest of the weekend looking at Ruby and CVS. Wish me luck! |
