RESEARCH IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

Week 5

In week 5, I starting using my test program with the list of walls and sent them to the interface. I sent all the outputs to a file and then I printed everything out before I started debugging. There are two reasons I did this. One, it would make it much easier to debug on paper than by looking at it on the computer. Second, I would be leaving to go to Boston for the AAAI Conference. We decide to enter the robot, named Lewis, to the human interaction competition. The robotic would go around taking pictures of people's faces by using two main modules. The first one is obstacle avoidance, and the second important one is object detection - detecting circular objects - people's faces. It was a great experience. I went around, talking to other groups, viewing demos of their robot and listening to presentations. As far as my code goes, I found yet more errors. I was unable to connect to run the simulators in Boston needed to test my code so I went though it by hand and found a couple errors.
