This week was a very productive one since we got a large portion of the crash course done and did a bit of reading. Most of the reading was just to refresh my memory and another portion was to read about simple robots developed in the 50’s which is going to be part of our project this summer.

Monday – 0 hrs

• Moved into the stack
  
• Met other students in the DREU Program
  

Tuesday - 8 hrs

• We went to a welcome breakfast at the MSC
  
• Introduced to the lab and given keys
  
• Unlocked desktops and began crash course
  
• Updated my website on Parasol
  

Wednesday- 9 hrs

• Went to Chinwe’s Defense
  
• Continued working on crash course and finished lesson 1
  
• Attended Jory’s Defense
  
• Read some papers to refresh memory
  

Thursday - 8 hrs

• Finished crash course lesson 2
  
• Met with Diane, Saurabh and Read and went over discussion questions
  
• Began new section in crash course with physical robots
  
• Read paper #1
  
• Went to Oaks Park to play basketball after work
  

Friday - 8 hrs

• Finished reading paper #2
  
• Started working with physical robots
  
• Worked on the weekly report
  
• Went to explore College Station after work
  

Saturday -

• Drive back home for high school graduation
  Sunday -
  
  • Went to church
    
  • Graduated from high school
    

  Goals for Next Week
  

  • Goal 1 : Continue working on physical robots
    
  • Goal 2 : Get used to 8 hour work day once again
