Intelligent Natural Interaction Technology Lab
Focused on advanced interaction technologies with an emphasis on children and education, the INIT Lab is direct by Dr. Lisa Anthony at the University of Florida.
Part of the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering, the INIT Lab strives to understand how users interact with non-traditional user interfaces and therefore how to develop better programs for these platforms.
The Wacom Project
For this project we will explore how children interact with Wacom tablets. Using different types of touch, we will attempt to identify potential uses of these tablets aimed toward children.
The Kinect Pose Project
The Kinect Pose Project will use the Microsoft Kinect to record and recognize full body gestures made by children.
The IPES Museum Learning Project
The IPES Museum Learning Project will attempt to identify the best methods when designing interactive touch screen exhibits in an educational environment. The project is in the early stages, and we will be building a prototype exhibit over the summer.
