Week 6: July 1st- July 5th
My sixth week was a very busy one. I am on the downhill of my summer experience here. This means that things are getting crazy because I have to start finishing things up and working on my technical report.
On Monday and Tuesday I spent most of the day finishing up my presentation. It was a lot of reading and finding references. Literature reviews are hard and I am definately not a fan. Tuesday afternoon I got to go with Sandra to run experiments with the quadrotor. It was fun finally getting to see the actual robot and how it works as opposed to all the theoretical work. It flew really well until a glitch occured and it smashed into a wall. It was exciting.
My presentation on Wednesday went really well but I realized how much I need to get done before the summer is over. I have to refine my code and do a few other experiments before I can even start writting my final report. This report is going to be really hard and I am starting to get nervous about it. I think it is going to take a while to write so I would like to get started on it sooner than later.
Thursday was the 4th of July. Originally we had been told that we had to work on the holiday. I had told my family not to worry about coming to visit since I would be working. However, on Wednesday we found out that pretty much no one was going to be coming into work on the 4th so we didn't necessarily have to. I was kinda upset by this because I had already told my family and friends not to inclued me in any plans. Even though we were told that we didn't have to come in it was also implied that we would have make up the time later, meaning that we would have to add an extra day to the DREU 10 weeks. I really don't have any spare days were I can make up any time so I came in to work like regular on Thursday. I was the only one in the office. I got some work done but then I left at noon. I spent the rest of the day watching movies and making a pie. It would have been nice if I could've worked from home but I don't know how to remotely connect to the network to access the files and applications I have been working with.
