Week 3: June 10th- June 14th
On Monday I worked on creating some more graphs. I met with Sandra in the morning to talk about what I would be working on this week since she will be out of the office. I am going to be working on creating more graphs and seeing if I can note anything about the relationship of the parameters on the modelling function. From there I am supposed to try to come up with a cubic function that will do the same thing as our modelling function but in cubic space. Yikes!
Tuesday and Wednesday were spent working in Matlab. I worked on scripting all the methods and equations I have been working with so that they automatically save the graphs they produce. I am a lot more comfortable with Matlab now but it still takes me some time to complete these types of tasks. Hopefully I can work on coming up with the cubic function on Thrusday and Friday.
There is now another DREU student here with me. Her name is Erica and Thursday morning we worked on our websites together. It made me realize how much work I needed to do on mine and that the submission date was coming up. I spent the rest of the day working on my website and was unable to get to the cubic function.
Friday was spent working in Matlab again. I worked on coming up with a cubic equation that models that operated the same at the quadratic function I have been working with. This is proving really difficult because I do not even really understand where our quadratic function came from. I came up with four different functions but I have no way of knowing which one is right.
Leisure Time I have been going to the rehab hospital in the evenings to see my grandma. She is always happy to see me and I mostly just tell her about my day. She isn't super responsive but I think it helps to have company. On Tuesday I met up with some friends to watch the NBA finals at Chili's, which was fun. It has definately been getting hotter here in Albuquerque as well. I have been trying to run in the morning before it gets too unbearable then workout in my backyard after work. My mom came to visit on Saturday and I helped her deliver a wedding cake, then we attended the wedding.
