Dr. Agrawal left this week for a trip to NYC and DC. While she was gone, I began
work on adding some functionality to the skip lists to speed up the renumbering
of the nodes.
Now, the list is split into two smaller lists (as estimated by the number of nodes
in the top skip list). Then, each smaller list is renumbered. I had some problems
interpreting the implementation that delayed its completion.
After this week, I will be the only student working, as everyone else will be finished and returned home.
To celebrate our summer together, we took a long lunch on Friday to go to Pappy's Smokehouse, a local favorite. Zach and David drove, and
we got there just before the line started to get long. We still had to wait about an hour, but we got our food quickly and Pappy's is
just phenomenal! Really, it's the best barbeque I've ever had, and it's super cheap. For dessert, we went to the Three Coin Fountain for sundaes.
Mike and Jen are still in the area, so they came with me and the graduate students to see the Sound of Music. It was brutally hot, but
the show was a lot of fun. |
