I can't believe I'm only here for this week and one more. Crazy stuff. This summer has gone by really fast.
This past week has been mostly looking at the survey results and trying to make tag search work. James, who is responsible for doing that, had strep all weekend, and was thus incommunicado. This was frustrating, because I'm pretty sure that I could write it, but I had no idea what he had already done, if anything, or how much progress he had made. I figured out how to get the search and grid views to have links to specific slides in specific lectures, so I'm trying to implement that for grid view. Or rather, I did implement that, but now I'm fighting with the Javascript to make the grid view show tags. I think it's winning right now.
We didn't end up having very many survey respondents. Such is life. It sounds like Bill and Beth might not push for a paper for SIGSCE (? I think that's the conference?), so there could be more opportunities to collect data. I'm working on writing the survey for the end. It's a little weird thinking that it'll go out after I leave San Diego. Of course, Beth wins for working long-distance -- we talked via webcam last Friday, and she used a webcam to be at the UP group meeting yesterday. Pretty cool.
