About my project
My project this summer will be to create a testbed to gather data to improve machine translation. Machine learning algorithms improve when they see examples of solutions to the problems they are trying to solve, and in this case the solutions are the alignments of words between a sentence and its translation. However, we have to get these annotated examples from humans, and we want to make this as easy as possible for them to do so. My goals for the program before I started are outlined in the detailed specifications, and the final report explains what I accomplished and how the program works.
