Hello, I'd like to introduce you to.. Myself...

Hi, this is me. This photo was taken a year or two ago, although I can't remember right off where or when. It was sometime when snow was still on the ground (I can tell I'm wearing my snowy weather boots) and from the nametag on my shirt, I think it was at an APO convention of some sort. Oh well, in any event, I now have shorter hair, and still wear glasses.

First, I'm from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. If you ever have the urge to visit Terre Haute...DON'T!! It ain't worth the trip. Anyhow, Rose is itty bitty, only about 1500 students total, it's absolutely great though.. if you ever want to know the convenience of going to a small school, go to a small one, then a large one...you'll notice a difference.. anyhow, if you want more info, here's the Rose Website

I'm not actually a resident of Indiana...I'm a floridiot at heart, moved to Pensacola, Florida before 2nd grade and lived there thru high school...I ended up in Indiana mostly because I fell in love with Rose, and it's about halfway between home and Michigan, where my extended family lives. I'm a big proponent of leaving home for college. It gives you a chance to meet people you never would have otherwise met at all, and keeps things interesting, in my opinion. I couldn't imagine going to school in the same town I've lived in for over ten years.

As for me, what do I do for fun? Well, to start out with, I'm a member of Alpha Phi Omega. It's a national co-ed service fraternity. That means every saturday I pretty much get up and help out around the community. The coolest thing we do is help out a guy near Terre Haute who runs an Exotic Feline Rescue Center. He's got over 100 tigers and lions and stuff that have come from circuses or breeders and things like that. The local chapter at Rose is Tau Lambda. It's pretty awesome! This photo is of a group of us Tau Lambdans before another one of our cool projects... we went down into a wild cave and cleaned graffitti. I'm in the bottom middle, with a purple bandana on. On the back row there's Nate, Sara, Dennis, Buck, Nate, Chris, Alex, Jon and in front Mike, me, and Alex.

I also really like to read. My favorite author is Neil Gaiman... known for a comic series called The Sandman. If you ever want to read something mind blasting, awesome, and twisted, pick that up. I'm sure you'll "hear" me blathering about this more around July when Gaiman's actually doing a booksigning in Vancouver. If you want more info on Gaiman, I got 2 links for ya: Gaiman's online journal (he actually updates it regularly, and a pretty good fan page on Gaiman news. Besides that, I'm keeping up with two comic series written by Straczynski (think Babylon 5), I haven't really found a great website that details what he's up to, if you know one, email me. And honestly, I DO read stuff besides comics!!! you just can't tell based on what I'm writing right now...My favorite american books are The Catcher in the Rye and Sometimes a Great Notion. That last one is written by the same guy who wrote One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I had to read Cuckoo's Nest for class last quarter, and it caused me to pick up "Notion". I can tell why Dr. Carvill didn't have Sometimes a Great Notion on the reading list, although in my opinion it is the better book. I just read it this summer, and it takes place in Oregon and is centered around a family of loggers, so it was really kinda cool reading it up here, where the climate is the same and logging is a big industry.
