Week Ten
This week was a crazy, busy week. IT was mostly a work week. We finished
and revised our final report. We also gave a presentation to the
Bioinformatics and Emperical and Theoretical Algorithms (BETA) Lab. The
presentation was a summary of our summer's work. The presentation went
reasonably well. The long version of our presentation is our report.
My notes from this week can be downloaded

On Friday, Laura and I decided to go play. We climbed Grouse
Mountain. It's a 1.2 mile trail that goes up 724 meters. It generally
takes people between one and two hours. I voted for riding the sky car to
the top, but Laura said that I would regret not climbing a mountain when I
moved back to mountain-free Georgia. I found something that I enjoy less
than campi, mountain climbing. About half way up, I looked at Laura
and said, "I run every day, why do I hurt so bad?" This man who was
walking by quickly said, "It's a completely different set of
muscles. Running won't help at all." I decided to turn around when I
heard a helpful, "The only thing worse that climbing up a mountain is
climbing down a moutain." At this point, I learned that it's so much
easier to go consistantly slow than to go fast, rest, go fast. It
was much easier after that. After a very long time, I arrived at the
top. Laura and I decided to go to a lumberjack show. It was raining, but
we climbed a mountain to see lumberjack, and we were not leaving until we
saw a log cut. In the middle of the lumberjack show, one lumberjack said,
"I see a big, burly lumberjack in the audience." He came and got me. I
had to saw a log with a lumberjack and a two person saw.
Immediately following the lumberjack show, we rode the sky car down. We
both slept so soundly that night. If you ever develop insomnia, go climb
Grouse Mountain. The next morning, I flew home.
