Week Nine
This was about the point of the summer where I began to realize that I'm going home soon. British Columbia is the most beautiful
place on earth, but it is not home. I wish I could either take the city back with me or move everyone that I love here. Neither
of those are reasonable options. I have also made some good friends here who I will really miss. Upon realizing how soon I would be leaving,
Laura, Anne, and I sat down and discussed exactly what we wanted
and needed to finish before I leave at the end of next week. On Monday, Anne took us out to lunch, and we discussed grad school as a serious option.
Laura finishes school next spring, so it was geared more towards her. We talked about our future plans and where we wanted to end up. It was a very
productive lunch. We decided that it would be good for Laura and me to give a talk to the theory department
about what we had been working on this summer. We tentatively scheduled that talk for Thurday of Week Ten. Laura and I also realized that we needed to be
working on our web pages, scanning pictures, and writing a final report.
We finished up our new research, which can be found
here , and began a final report rough draft.
It was completely a work week. We worked all weekend writing the paper.
Our hope is that the paper will be a good prepairation for the talk.
