About Me
My name is Arian Williams. I am from Mound Bayou, MS. I'm a rising junior at Mississippi Valley State University. I graduated Salutatorian of my high school class with a 3.92. My majors are currently Computer Science and Mathematics. Since I was a kid, I have always loved math. I will do my best to obtain a career in the STEM field. My plans are to graduate in May 2020, and become a professional engineer after I graduate.

About Dr. Thomas
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Science with a minor in Mathematics from Spelman College in 1999. In 2006, Dr. Thomas was conferred a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in the Learning Sciences and Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, where she was a Presidential Fellow, National Physical Science Consortium Fellow, tutor, mentor, and Research Assistant. Her research interests include exploring the development of computational algorithmic thinking, promoting access to healthcare information and services for under-served populations, improving reasoning using expert cases, scientific reasoning, complex cognitive skills learning, and computer-supported collaborative learning. Dr. Cheryl Seals is an associate professor in Auburn University's Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. Her research areas of expertise are human computer interaction, user interface design, usability evaluation and educational gaming technologies. Seals also works with outreach initiatives to improve computer science education at all levels. The programs are focused on increasing the computing pipeline by getting students interested in STEM disciplines and future technology careers. |
