Hi my name is Katie Li, and I am a rising senior computer science major at Pomona College, majoring in computer science with strong interests in health care and medicine. This summer I am working with Professor Helena Mentis from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County in the Human-Centered Computing department.

We are collaborating with Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland, and researching the use of telestration in the operating room. Communication patterns may change between a instructor surgeon trainer and their trainee, when adding the additional tool of a Microsoft Kinect which allows the surgeon to annotate and draw directly on the trainee's video screen.
