Dr. Juan E. Gilbert

This Summer my mentor is Dr. Gilbert. He holds the Andrew Banks Family Preeminence Endowed Professor and he is also the Chair Computer & Information Science & Engineering Department University of Florida He also leads the Human-Experience Research Lab. His primary areas of research are Human Centered Computing and Databases & Data Analytics. Some of his current projects include: PRIME III an electronic voting system that allows anyone to vote no matter their condition or location.

Dr. Gilbert has been awarded several recognitions throughout his career such as Richard A. Tapia Achievement Award, 2013, ACM Distinguished Scientist, 2010-Present, and Recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring, National Science Foundation among many others.
