Dr. Rebecca Hwa

Rebecca Hwa received her BS from UCLA in 1993 and received her doctorate from Harvard University in the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2001. She received a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship spanning 1993 to 1996.

Her research interests are Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, and particularly, in training a machine to represent linguistic structures.

She is currently on the editorial board of the journal Computational Linguistics and is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Pittsburgh where she teaches introductory and advanced classes in Natural Language Processing.
