There is plenty of research on how texting while driving is dangerous and poses several safety hazards. This particular study is an adaptation of the famed Texas A&M study that tested the different forms of texting (manual entry and voice texting).
Along with the other REUs, I will be conducting the actual study. And specifically, I've been tasked with programming the LED lights that will signal different instructions that the participants will have to respond to during the road test.
On this project, we are developing a completely accessible system that will allow users to control their cable box entirely through gestures.
I am the team lead in the design of the second gesture study that will provide feedback on the first installment of the study which helped build a databse of gestures to interact with the a cable box.
