DREU Summer 2012
Welcome, this website details my experience in the 2012 summer Distributed Research Experience for Undergraduates (DREU) program. For my summer research I was placed in the computer science department at Tufts University Medford, Massachusetts. I was paired with Diane Souvaine and one of her graduate students Andrew Winslow. I spent my ten weeks in the DREU program working with oscillators in cellular automata using Conway.s Game of Life rule set. By attending this research experience I had the chance to attend a symposium and present my research. I have also had the pleasure of working with graduate students, undergraduate students, professors, and other faculty. This summer has provided me with a great deal of information pertaining to graduate school and other research experiences. I hope this detailed documentation of my summer research helps you decide to pursue a research experiment.
