I met with my mentor today instead of last Friday. We went over my document that I put together last week. The next part of the project is to create the user survey. I am to come up with three different collective privacy tools, with respect to the varying degree of user involvement. I believe after that, I'm to make a very fancy power point presentation explaining each tool and then the users will take the survey based on the tools, to see which ones they like etc. She told me to read through a chapter in a book she gave me to see if it helps as reference material.

I was also told that the PhD student had figured out the automation of the testing so I'm to meet up with her again to finish up the testing.

I met with the PhD student. She had finished the automation but there was still some manual work that had to be done for some reason. My job now until she finishes submitting the test results, is to take the txt files the results are in, make sure there are no spaces between entries and get rid of file path strings. I don't understand why I have to do this step, I would've thought there would be some way to not print out the file path. I then have to convert the results txt file to an excel file. Then finally, I have to change some of the result labels in the excel file. I'm guessing she just hard coded labels into the output print statement of the code and I have to change them to what they really mean?

I'm to read the paper these results are going to be in and submit the results when I finish. As of now, I have to wait for the PhD student to make the txt files before I can do my part.

Briefly brainstormed a couple collective privacy management tools that could be implemented. I also wrote up the progress report that I need to finish for the DREU organization. Still waiting on the PhD student to create the txt files.

I also finished brainstorming 5 different ideas for collective privacy management tools in regards to photo privacy. These ideas will be used to make a power point flash video type thing to be shown to those taking the survey I'm to make, they will then answer questions based on the three examples, describing what they liked, dislike etc.

Met with my mentor. I had forgotten to edit my examples to exactly what my mentor asked so I need to quickly edit them. I fixed them up and emailed the edited document to my mentor.

She also asked how the results were going for the coding project. I'm still waiting for the PhD student to finish her part.
