Alicia Bargar's DREU Experience

About Me

Alicia Bargar

Hi! I'm a student at Washington and Lee University, a liberal arts school located in the Shenandoah Valley. I'll be a senior this coming fall, and will graduate in May 2013 with majors in physics and computer science. I'm originally from Spartanburg, SC. Some of my favorite things are going on treks with the Outing Club, playing board games, and eating deep-fried sushi.

My Mentors

Professor Mataric

Professor Mataric

I'm lucky enough to get to work with Professor Maja Mataric at USC this summer. Professor Maja Mataric is a professor of computer science, pediatrics, and neuroscience. Her main area of research is assistive robotics. She founded the Interaction Lab at USC devoted to studying the development and applications of socially assistive robotics. There's no way to describe everything she's done here, so make sure to check out her site here.

Jill Greczek

Jill Greczek

Jill's my super-cool graduate mentor. This is actually her first year at USC, where she is a computer science PhD candidate. She graduated from Texas A&M and hails from a cow farm outside of Houston. She's the genius behind the research I'm building off of this summer, so you should check her site out here!
