Each year the Distributed Research Experience for Undergraduates program gives lucky undergraduate students the oppurtunity to gain first-hand experience to work in graduate studies. Participants are paired up with a mentor working on a project that matches the intererst of the participants. Participants spend up to 10 weeks working with their mentor and create a website like this one documenting the experience. In the summer of 2010 I, Brionne Godby, was lucky enough to be paired with Pei Zhang of Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley. This is a chronicling of that experience.
