This has been a great week for my project! My application is shaping up at a really strong pace, and I finally have a really good handle on the math behind stream reversal and processing. As a result, I am able to more efficiently trouble shoot program errors. I have realized how valuable my background reading has been to success so far. Taking time to really understand the fundamentals gives me the ability to talk about my project, to share it, to learn from my mistakes logically rather than playing guessing games.
I am now at the point where I am designing experiments with the help of Julie and making plans for presenting the project and finishing up the application. I was definitely worried earlier this month about even making it to my deadline, but now I am excited to see where everything goes. I feel pretty confident I will finish up this project by the end of my REU, which is the ideal situation. Look forward to a more detailed reflection on the past few weeks coming up very soon.
