Professor Susan H. Rodger,
Associate Professor of the Practice in the Computer Science Department at Duke University. Professor Rodger received a
BS in computer science and mathematics from N.C. State University in 1983, the year the cinderella basketball team won the NCAA Championship. She
received her MS and Ph.D. in computer science from Purdue University in 1985 and 1989. Purdue CS celebrated its 40th anniversary
in 2003. From 1989 until 1994, she was an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She
is also known as "sensor guard" and "another sacred SHRug" (anagrams of her name). ( Rodger, Susan H. "Susan Rodger's Home
Page." 4 June-July 2008 <http://www.cs.duke.edu/~rodger/>.)
Professor
Rodger was extremely great to work with. She was very helpful at helping me get settled in. She provided transportation for me the
first couple days until I figured out where everything was and could manage to get around on my own. The moment I found out that I
would be working at Duke University with Professor Rodger I felt very fortunate to get given such a rich opportunity. Once I read
up on Professor Rodger I realized she was a veteran in the field of computer science. She has a great deal of knowledge to share.
I was sure that working for her during the summer would provide a great learning experience.
