The main program that I use in the lab is called Maya. Maya is a software program used for 3D
modeling, animation, effects and rendering.
After attending SIGGRAPH I learned that a lot of
large production companies actually use this program for feature films. Modeling using Maya is my primary interest
and last summer I began the learning process by creating a bear. During the school year I was able to develop
the skills I had learned previously and gain more practice. At the very beginning of my mentorship this
summer I was able to work on a few models that will eventually be used with the
data collected from general captures.
The models were just basic objects that are used as props during a capture
session. I built the models to scale so
that when they are placed alongside the motion captured character there would
be a correct correlation. Below is a of the step stool I modeled.
