The main program that I use in the lab is called Maya.  Maya is a software program used for 3D modeling, animation, effects and rendering.  After attending SIGGRAPH I learned that a lot of large production companies actually use this program for feature films.  Modeling using Maya is my primary interest and last summer I began the learning process by creating a bear.  During the school year I was able to develop the skills I had learned previously and gain more practice.  At the very beginning of my mentorship this summer I was able to work on a few models that will eventually be used with the data collected from general captures.  The models were just basic objects that are used as props during a capture session.  I built the models to scale so that when they are placed alongside the motion captured character there would be a correct correlation.  Below is a of the step stool I modeled.
