I came in today in preparation for tomorrow's meeting. Also, did some work on my resume while here.

I rewrote the code for the html output of the structure data. It is more readable to me now, and displays both the original and structure images.

We had a meeting today in which we got back on track as a group. I should meet with Sal tomorrow to go over multiclassification stuff.

I emailed Sal earlier today, but he hasn't gotten back to me.

Linda and I looked at some of Yi's output with the new program and it looks fine. I had sent out some samples of what I have been generating, and that caused some confusion, but I think that has been cleared up at this point. She and I also talked about the abstract region ideas again, and I think I might just start implementing some of those ideas if Sal doesn't give me another task soon. I really need to talk to him about the multiclassification, but he seems somewhat unavailable right now.

I met with Sal during the afternoon today to discuss the multiclassification tasks that lie ahead. He tried to explain parts of the paper, which seemed to contain a few varied approached to the problem, but he wasn't that clear. So, he directed me to one of the references in the paper that explains more about codewords and error-correcting codes. He said that it should make more sense with that. He also gave me a copy of the header file for the code he wrote that I will presumably end up using.

The newer paper seems more straightforward. Jenny is running the newest analysis for pilot 5 so that I can get the area from the XML files and display the correct statistics. I rewrote my parser code today to accommodate that change and committed it.

Today we had a meeting to catch up and review the data analysis. We also determined some more analysis that I should do, and also should be able to do without further direction from Sal. Sal didn't have time for any further discussion on the multiclassification, so I think I will just continue reading more about that on my own, and possibly reread the first paper again for anything I may have missed.

What was exciting today was that I played bridge in the chateau in the afternoon! That was a lot of fun and I got to meet a number of grad students in the department as well as a few professors. They play regularly, and I think I might continue to join them during my lunch hour.
