Krista Marie Janssen
When I am not working on my project at the U of Minn, I keep very busy. I am engaged to a wonderful man, Jason Dowdey, who just recently graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College, Emmetsburg, IA and is now working as a automotive mechanic. We've discovered planning a wedding is a big undertaking! (more). I also enjoy living with some girls I know from Bethel.
I am a computer science student at Bethel College and Seminary in St. Paul, MN. I am a junior in my computer science major (though I have enough credits to be a senior). At Bethel, besides my homework, (which keeps me quite busy) I work as a TA in the math department, (mostly grading papers and entering grades). I also work as a tutor in the Math Tutoring lab where students can come to get help on most any math homework.
I grew up in the small town of Sibley in Northwest Iowa. My family has lived there almost my entire life. I come from a fairly small and very close family, consisting of me, my mom, dad, and sister. My sister will be a senior in high school this fall. My dad is an Accountant/Office Manager and my mom is a Social Worker. Both work in the area. I graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School, a fairly small school so I was able to be involved in many activities.
Before I started DMP, my family went on vacation for a week. We drove to Denver to spend the weekend with my aunt, uncle, and cousins. Then we went to SanteFe for a few days to sight see. We also went to Armarillo, TX and Oklahoma City. It was a good trip, though it also was a lot of time in the car!
