The Best Sport in the World

This weekend, I joined the Saturday summer Ultimate Frisbee league that's run by the Atlanta Flying Disc Club. I was sort of apprehensive about joining a team because I was afraid it was going to be too competitive and intimidating, but it was just the opposite. I stood around and watched a game before I went to ask about getting on a team and everyone was just having fun. So I ended up joining a team called the Road Runners, and playing half a game with them. The level of play isn't as fast-paced as college ultimate, so I think I'll be able to do some of the things I don't get to do with my team at school (the Peace Frogs) because I'm pretty new to the sport and am not exactly a star athlete. For instance, I think they might have me handle from time to time this summer because I throw better than most of the women out there. The most important thing is that my team has lots of Ultimate spirit, so whether or not a game was good is judged on whether or not everyone had fun. So basically, I think it will be a great learning experience and confidence booster, not to mention a great time. Here's a picture of me with some of my teammates, exhausted after a couple of games:
