My Mentor

Dr. Maria Gini is the mentor I was paired with.  She received her doctorate in physics from the University of Milan in Italy, and then spent several years researching in Milan and later at Stanford in the United States.  Dr. Gini has been a professor at the University of Minnesota since 1982.  She is well known for her work on robotics, artificial intelligence, and intelligent agents for e-commerce.  I'll select a part of one her projects, either with robotics or intelligent agents, and work on it with her and the graduate students who are already doing research on the topic.  Dr. Gini has also arranged opportunities for me to meet other women in computer science who are either her for undergrad research programs or are doing their graduate work at this university.
