PURPOSE

This blog and all of its posts were created to follow my time in the CRA-W DREU program during summer of 2017.

I am a senior Texas A&M student, working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (with Computer Science/Physics minors). I plan to graduate in May of 2018. My interests include Cognitive Modeling and Web Design. I have experience with C++, Java, HTML, and CSS programming languages, but my native language is mathematics. When I’m not working on a project, my favorite things to do are drink coffee and sit around doing absolutely nothing; perhaps some would call it meditation.

This summer, I will be working with Dr. Debaleena Chattopadhyay, at University of Illinois at Chicago. She works in the computer science department, specifically in “…human-computer interaction, especially novel interaction experiences, socio-technical systems, and input technologies…”, according to her website linked above.

PROJECT

The project I assisted with over the summer was a design for an accessible navigational map application for older adults. However, the majority of my input was rather in working on a background probability function and assisting with participant interviews.
