i'm feeling a bit better! i finished my app testing and showed the results to xinxin. she tested some as well on iOS and we discussed the results. now i have to go back into open source issue trackers and find open source examples of specific misbehaviors that have already been resolved and identify their root causes.
in addition i've also been going through the android tutorial on core functinoality for accsessing network connections. this was sort of my own direction and i've been building and playing with apps on the emulator. it was really helpful for me because now i actually understand how the code could go wrong; there's a lot more to do with UI failure than i'd thought initially.
